The Textile Cuisine

Are you ready? Here she is - finished! Jesteście gotowi? Oto ona - skończona! "Poet in the kitchen" in her full glory. She is 60 x 74cm big and a bit tricky for photographing. "Poetka w kuchni" w pełnej okazałości. Ma 60 x 74cm i oczywiście trudno jej zrobić zdjęcie.  The last weeks of working on her were really intensive. And of course no "in the process" pictures - I had to stay focused on just sewing. Ostatnie tygodnie pracy nad nią były bardzo intensywne. I oczywiście żadnych zdjęć "w trakcie" - musiałam być bardzo skoncentrowana na samym szyciu. I have to confess that I like her very much. In fact it is exactly the picture I saw while reading the poem by Dorota Kiersztejn Pakulska . So to remind the poem and the beginning of the whole story - look HERE . Now you've got them all :) Teraz macie tu je wszystkie :) The reverse side. For me it looks like a necklace for the kitchen :) A tak z drugiej strony. Dla mnie to taki naszyjnik do kuchni :) This is a part you haven't seen before. The whole thing is 68 cms long. To chyba taka część, której wcześniej nie widzieliście. Całość ma 68cm długości. And here they are stacked up :) So I can move to my poet... A teraz są złożone :) To ja mogę przejść do poetki... She is taking shape and doesn't feel very lonely now :) Powoli przybiera kształt i nie czuje się już taka samotna :)

  Both poet and I are sorrounded by our pottery :) And some of my tea pots have their own private life... Obie z poetką jesteśmy otoczone przez nasze skorupy :) A niektóre z moich czajniczków wydają się mieć swoje własne życie prywatne...   So for the next one, Więc przy kolejnym,   I decided to keep it in frame :) postanowiłam trzymać go w ramach :)

And she is still alive:) A ona żyje :) I hope to work on her some more... Mam nadzieję troszkę teraz nad nią popracować...

One of my avid readers asked for a full, everyday report of the progress on this. Well, I can't work on it every day but I will try. And it is really interesting to me, because I have no idea where this is going. There's no final result I want to achieve. I just found those scraps of old laces dyed by me, started to place them in different combinations and decided to give it a try with some embroidery. I pinned the scraps to the sage green fabric (30 x 14 cms) and embroidered those long stalks (mostly to keep the scraps together). Jedna z moich zagorzałych czytelniczek poprosiła o pełne, codzienne relacje z ręcznej robótki. No cóż, może nie codzienne, ale się postaram. I dla mnie samej jest to także bardzo ciekawe, ponieważ nie mam pojęcia, dokąd to zmierza. Nie mam żadnego zaplanowanego ostatecznego efektu, który chcę osiągnąć. Znalazłam po prostu takie pofarbowane przeze mnie stare koronki, zaczęłam je jakoś układać i postanowiłam połączyć je za pomocą haftu. Przypięłam sk

Yes, I want to see green everywhere. So I keep adding cabbage :) Tak, wszędzie chciałabym widzieć zielony. No to dodaję kapusty :) And my speedy spring project is quilted now. A mój błyskawiczny projekt wiosenny jest już przepikowany. And here is something just for fun. I have a great find in the area of, let's say, "domestic archeology": A teraz taki drobiażdżek. Mam ciekawe znalezisko na polu, powiedzmy, "archeologii domowej": This is a piece of my very own embroidery done 34 years ago :) I remember it very well, but had no idea it survived. The design is inspired by the one seen in Burda :) I was making clothes for myself from ever. And this was made for a special event - a ball ending my primary school. I'm realy surprised that it is in such a good condition - mind you, the threads are not DMC or Coats, they were made by a small, local manufacturer! And the blouse was washed many times.
